Students are required to sit all examinations at the study centre at which they are enrolled, with the exception of the categories listed below. This form is for nominating an alternative, Tasmanian UTAS campus only.

Basis For Application

Enrolled in distance education at a Tasmanian campus. Applications close 28 working days prior to the first day of the examination period.

Enrolled in cross-campus study (that is, units at two different campuses in the same semester). Applications close 20 working days prior to the first day of the examination period.

Sitting at enrolled campus will cause excessive hardship. Applications close 20 working days prior to the first day of the examination period.

Rule 6 (clause 5.7.4) states: student who can demonstrate excessive hardship if required to sit for an examination at the study centre at which they are enrolled, may be permitted to sit that examination at some other place...

  • Applications made on the basis of excessive hardship must have supporting documentation. Applications without supporting documentation will not be considered.
  • The documentation must address circumstances that apply at or close to the time of the examination.
  • Students may be required to demonstrate that circumstances have changed since their original enrolment, as the original enrolment will be taken as evidence of your agreement to sit your exams at your enrolled study centre.

Please note: practical exams can only be taken at the campus at which they are taught
