UTAS preferred examination centres are listed below. Please nominate one of the following centres if you are enrolled as a distance student and you live less than 100km away from the campus listed, or if you are happy to travel to one of the below preferred centres. If you nominate one of these centres, we will make all arrangements for you.

If you are enrolled as a distance student and you live more than 100 km away from one of the above preferred examinations centres, you are eligible to apply to sit your exam at another tertiary institution.

If you live more than 100km from all tertiary institutions that holds examinations, you may organise an isolated venue. Please visit our website for further information.

Please note that if you nominate an institution that is not one of the preferred examination centres listed above, you will be responsible for making all arrangements including contacting the venue and organising a supervisor. The supervisor cannot be a family member, friend, or anyone with a potential conflict of interest. You must contact the venue personally to make arrangements prior to submitting this form.

Please note that upon initial contact, you will only be able to provide the venue with the examination period dates until your timetable is released. Once your timetable is released, please contact your venue to provide the exact date and time. Please ensure you request the room where the examination will be held, and visit the site before your examination if uncertain.

Applications close 28 days before the first day of the examination period. For deferred & supplementary exams, applications close 3 working days before the first day of examinations.

Please be advised that it is your responsibility to complete your application each semester, before the exams period, even if your distance venue remains the same.

The University of Tasmania will cover the cost of the exams supervision and the postage of exam papers.
